Mailerlite is the best email marketing tool, but its website builder has limitations. While it’s a great addition for those already using Mailerlite for email marketing, it doesn’t quite measure up to dedicated website builders.
Learn more in this short Mailerlite website builder review.
Mailerlite Pricing
Mailerlite includes its website builder with all plans, including the free plan.
The free plan has limitations, though: You can’t publish the site on a custom domain; you’ll be stuck with a [websitename].mailerlite.io domain name. You can’t use the Mailerlite website templates. You’ll have a Mailerlite ad on your website. Moreover, you can’t use some of the features like blogs.
For users who want a custom domain and an ad-free experience, Mailerlite includes it in its paid email marketing tool plan. This makes for a great deal, i.e., the website builder is essentially free for anyone using Mailerlite for email marketing.
Mailerlite website templates. They are quite decent for what's possible with the builder.
You can start making your website from scratch or use one of the 18 templates. The next step will be using the website editor to customize/personalize per your needs.
Using Mailerlite editor
Mailerlite’s website builder has a simple drag-and-drop block editor. You drag a block from the right-side panel and place it on the page section or column. That’s it.
I found it slightly unintuitive at times—for instance, I had to watch a tutorial to figure out how to add a blog, which shouldn’t have been necessary for a tool designed to be simple. But, all in all, it’s straightforward to use.
The emails you collect through the newsletter block on your Mailerlite website will be added directly to the selected newsletter email group, which is a pretty nifty feature.
Mailerlite is an excellent email marketing tool and can go head-to-head with its competitors on the email marketing features front. On the other hand, its website builder is an add-on of sorts with only the basic features.
In short, the Mailerlite website builder is basic and only recommended for simple sites.
One unusual downside is that you can’t publish your website instantly after editing. Mailerlite reviews your account before allowing it to go live, which adds an unnecessary step to the process. This delay can be frustrating, especially for users who want to launch their site quickly.
The email I recieved on trying to publish the site.
I also got a generic rejection email. I am not sure what I did wrong, nor do they specify.
I’d recommend it only for simple websites. Particularly, I’d suggest you try it if you already use Mailerlite for email marketing needs.
